Heather works with riders and horses at all levels of dressage. Emphasis is put on developing correct basics. Riders learn to follow the Training Scale: Rhythm, Suppleness, Contact, Impulsion, Straightness and Collection. Attention to the rider's seat and correct aids helps riders develop the grace and effectiveness that makes dressage so beautiful. Riders are encouraged to work on their own suppleness, symmetry and relaxation in the saddle Priority is placed on teaching the horse relaxation and responsiveness to the aids, enhancing their self carriage and balance while progressing in suppleness and engagement.

Riders who wish to show are encouraged to do so. Heather works together with students to set goals and plan a show schedule. At home and at shows there is always a supportive and enjoyable environment. Horses and riders should have fun! Heather takes her own horses on trail rides and schools over cavelletti so her horses stay fresh in mind and body!

Training of young horses is a specialty. Having started over 25 horses under saddle, and competed young stallions in the VSN (Dutch Championships for 3 year olds) and the Pavo Cup (Dutch Championships for 4 &5 year olds), Heather enjoys working with young horses. Great care is taken to develop a horse that is confident, quiet, and focused on his rider.
